Again had a nice discussion on Ecademy about Business Intelligence. The question was: How to explain Business Intelligence to Paris Hilton in 3 min?

Ok Paris, it's like your assistant, whose job it is to know everyone's name, who they're dating, how much money they have, what they drive, and what films they're working on and with who at any given moment. Your assistant whispers all of these things into your ear as you circulate the room so that when you talk to each person you not only look smart and well connected, but you can take advantage of them through all of the information you have about them. Thanks to your assistant, that is. Now just imagine it's a business, not a club, and your assistant is not a sad waif from Oklahoma waiting for her big break, but a software program feeding messages to your blackberry about strange things like inventory, payroll changes or unpaid invoices. What are those? Oh don't worry your pretty head. It's just supposed to make you LOOK intelligent.
